The Hairy Marron FAQ’s

Do you take bookings?

No, but we have a large fleet of bikes, so there is virtually no chance of bikes being unavailable. We open at 8 am daily and operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

Are there trails near the shop?

Yes! There are walking and cycling trails right on our doorstep, with the main mountain trail centre just a ten-minute ride away

Do you service bikes?

We certainly do. We have a full workshop and several experienced mechanics ready to work on any style of bike. We can also undertake most suspension work in-store.

How much is bike servicing?

All bike servicing is unique, so exact servicing costs can vary greatly. Our standard service package starts at $75 and includes labour for most new parts to be fitted (excluding bearings and hydraulic brake systems).

Do you have bikes with child seats or trailers for hire?

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer child seats or trailers for insurance reasons. We do have balance bikes available to use free of charge and kids pedal bikes for hire from $29.

Can we ride to wineries?

Riding to wineries is a great option from our shop. Within a ten-kilometre radius, at least five wineries are easily accessed via bush tracks or very quiet, unsealed back roads.

Do you have e-bikes for hire?

We certainly do. We have touring-style e-bikes that are perfect for leisure rides or riding between wineries. We also have dual-suspension e-bikes that are suitable for the more technical mountain bike trails.

Do you ever sell your bikes?

Yes. Periodically we take the opportunity to refresh our hire fleet and replace some of our older bikes with new ones. There’s no set time frame, so our recommendation is to pop in-store or keep an eye on our social media channels.

Still have questions?

Hit us up. We are more than happy to answer any questions you might have.

Was in town from Sydney on a family holiday. I bought my ride gear just needed a bike and the great team at The Hairy Marron sorted me out. They pointed me to the Wooditjup Trails. These are some of best trails I have riden. Will be returning hopefully one day soon.

Really friendly bike hire shop and really good local advice and maps specific to our needs. Nice coffee and cake too! Highly recommended. We took an afternoon rental for 4 hours and visited Stella Bella, Xanadu and Cape Mentelle. All really friendly and managed to get bikes home with 8 minutes to spare. A fabulous day out in WA.

We found this place at the end of our Riverslea Run into River Walk trails. A very welcome sight after a 5km hike into town from our accommodation. The coffee is great, the service prompt and friendly and it was such a treat to have the deck all to ourselves as we enjoyed a muffin (freshly baked in house) with our coffees while watching the ducks and birds. There's dog treats, kid treats and duck food as well. A gorgeous lil cafe disguised as a bike shop. A new fave for me - I will be back.

My wife and I hired two gravel bikes from George at the Hairy Marron. The bikes were exceptional, very well set up and a fantastic ride, ideal for hitting the Wadandi Track and visiting many wineries. George was super helpful, took his time with us to make sure the bikes fitted, gave us lots of personal recommendations and mapped out two great routes for us. We had two exceptional days on the bikes. Oh and the coffee is the best in town. Magnificent.

Staying in Margaret River and wanted a quick fix of mountain biking. Hired a Trance from the Hairy Marron, friendly efficient service and well maintained bike. Quick directions and a map for the many trails over the road at Wooditjup and sorted for a fun morning ride. Thanks Hairy Marron!
