FAQs

No matter your query, the friendly staff at The Hairy Marron are here to help.

I’ve never ridden a mountain bike before, will I have fun?

Of course! There is something for everyone here in Margaret River. If you want to dip your toe into the world of off-road riding, we can point you in the direction of the beginner trails. If fine wine and fresh produce are your thing, some of the best food and drink that the south-west has to offer are just a short ride away. If you can ride a bike, we can tailor an experience to you.

We’re a group of five wanting to hire bikes tomorrow, can we reserve them?

Unfortunately, The Hairy Marron is unable to reserve or pre-book bikes. To offer a fair service to all of our customers, we run on a first-come-first-served basis. All of our bikes are available when we open at 8am, with the first group of hire bikes usually returning at around midday. If you’re concerned about availability, we strongly recommend ringing ahead.

My bike needs servicing, can you fix it for me?

We certainly can. Like its rider, every bike is different and needs specific servicing. We treat every job with great care and attention to provide the best service to our customers. We aim to get your bike back to you as soon as we can, so the sooner you bring your bike in, the sooner we can have it back on the road.

How much will it cost to service my bike?

Without first seeing a bike, it’s very difficult to accurately determine how much it will cost to fix it. We will always put a bike in a workstand and assess it for free. Service packages start from $49, and our hourly workshop rate is $90ph. For more detailed service information, see our Service and Repairs page

Is The Hairy Marron dog friendly?

Yes! We’re happy for you to bring your pooch down to the shop, we only ask that dogs do not come into the shop. There is plenty of room on our outside deck area for your four-legged friends.
